Youth arrested from Cumilla for hacking 200 Facebook accounts

The Cyber Security and Crime Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested a hacker, who allegedly hacked some 200 accounts of Facebooker users so far, from a hotel of Cumilla town on Wednesday night. - A home for your website

The arrestee was identified as Md Kawsar Ahmed, 20, who used to hack Facebook accounts and gathered personal pictures and information of the users and blackmail them through extorting money.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Md Nazmul Islam of the Cyber Crime Division confirmed this to media on Thursday.
Nazmul Islam said, “A DMP’s Social Media Monitoring team, led by superintendent of police (SP) MishuK Chakma conducted a drive and arrested Kawsar from a hotel in Cumilla town.”

Two mobile phones, Tk 5 lakh in cash and Tk 77 thousand in his mobile banking account were recoverd from his possessions during the drive, the ADC said.

Kawsar was arrested following a lead from a case, filed with the Tejgaon police Station recently.
